In Missouri, the network is built in partnership with CyncHealth, Freeman Health, Mercy, the United Way of Greater St. The Unite Us closed-loop referral system streamlines service delivery across multiple regions to effectively address social needs and improve lives.Ĭureatr initially launched its pilot health equity program with Unite Us in two state networks (Unite New York and Unite Missouri) after an introduction from a Missouri-based nonprofit attending a community information meeting. – In addition to providing services that address medication access issues, the new health equity program allows CHWs to screen patients for social determinants of health (SDoH) insecurities related to food, transportation, housing, and health literacy and connect them to community resources in their area. The partnership with Unite Us has empowered Cureatr to more holistically care for patients and evolve the role of Cureatr’s certified community health workers (CHWs). We’ll know more about Unite US’ ambitious plans in the fall, but a $2 million initial investment in something that at first glance appears quite niche indicates there is a good amount of support and need for this kind of company.– Cureatr and Unite Us are teaming up to launch a comprehensive health equity program to support patients experiencing transitions of care. Unite US says that being a for-profit company is the only way to develop the kind of tech that non-profit organizations in the space haven’t been able to put together on their own so far. The startup is for-profit, despite its apparently noble aim, and plans to partner with companies that value visibility and access among veterans. Unite US is in talks with the various arms of the United States Armed Forces, the company says, and say those have been promising but that it will take time to work out formal partnerships with each. This is why we want to create visibility for all of them and provide a mechanism to create visibility and organization management for them.” “But access to them is limited, which is why many struggle to stay afloat even though they provide direct impacts for veterans. Many are membership based, and some provide great services,” Brillman said. “There are over 50,000 organizations that support veterans. Organizations can also use it to manage membership, via built-in CRM tools, and that allows them to work with other groups and agencies and find meaningful connections between memberships to better serve their communities. ” Consumer facing- it is a social approach through interactive mapping, but not at all ‘a professional network.’ Instead, it’s comparable to a Yelp (local discovery of who and what resources are around you) and a (connecting and matching people based on finite interests/location which allows discussion and interaction).” “While our solution does have a professional/job facilitation component to it (about 10%), it is far from a LinkedIn model,” Unite US co-founder and CEO Dan Brillman explained via email. It’s about connecting people for opportunities they might not otherwise have found, but don’t call it a LinkedIn for service men and women. Unite US wants to address that market with a platform that’s designed to bring together the disparate and disorganized options and avenues of help available to them under one digital roof. There’s also a much higher rate of unemployment for veterans from the most recent Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts compared to the national average. in 2010, and around 200,000 service people depart every year. Veterans Affairs agency estimates that there were around 22.2 million vets in the U.S. The startup is still partly in stealth mode, with a public launch planned for this fall, but its goal is to help veterans better connect with public and private agencies designed to help them transition to civilian life, and to build a community that can help with post-service careers and more. New York-based startup Unite US, founded by three members of the Armed Forces both past and present, announced that it has raised $2 million in seed funding from a number of private investors today. X-rays usually do not show evidence of new stress fractures, but can be used approximately three weeks after onset of pain when the bone begins to remodel. Changing habits or the environment like training surface or shoes.Going from one event to another without proper training for the second event.Going back to competition too soon after an injury or illness.Along with history of stress fractures, a narrow tibial shaft, high degree of hip external rotation, osteopenia, osteoporosis, and pes cavus are common predisposing factors for stress fractures Ĭommon causes in sport that result in stress fractures include Previous stress fractures have been identified as a risk factor. As the bones now experience larger stresses, this increases the risk of fracture. However, the muscles, usually those in the lower leg, become fatigued after running a long distance and lose their ability to absorb shock. Muscles and bones serve as shock absorbers. Each shock-a rapid acceleration and energy transfer-must be absorbed. In a runner, each stride normally exerts large forces at various points in the legs. Muscle fatigue can also play a role in the occurrence of stress fractures. Stress fractures are also commonly reported in soldiers who march long distances. They may also occur in athletes completing high volume, high impact training, such as running or jumping sports. Stress fractures commonly occur in sedentary people who suddenly undertake a burst of exercise (whose bones are not used to the task). Potential causes include overload caused by muscle contraction, amenorrhea, an altered stress distribution in the bone accompanying muscle fatigue, a change in ground reaction force (concrete to grass) or the performance of a rhythmically repetitive stress that leads up to a vibratory summation point. It occurs from repeated traumas, none of which is sufficient to cause a sudden break, but which, when added together, overwhelm the osteoblasts that remodel the bone. Over time, if enough stress is placed on the bone that it exhausts the capacity of the bone to remodel, a weakened site-a stress fracture-may appear on the bone. ( November 2020) ( Learn how and when to remove this template message)īones are constantly attempting to remodel and repair themselves, especially during a sport where extraordinary stress is applied to the bone. Anterior tibial stress fractures elicit focal tenderness on the anterior tibial crest, while posterior medial stress fractures can be tender at the posterior tibial border. Pressure applied to the bone may reproduce symptoms and reveal crepitus in well-developed stress fractures. There is usually an area of localized tenderness on or near the bone and generalized swelling in the area. If pain is constantly present it may indicate a more serious bone injury. In cases of fibular stress fractures, pain occurs proximal to the lateral malleolus, that increases with activity and subsides with rest. Symptoms usually have a gradual onset, with complaints that include isolated pain along the shaft of the bone and during activity, decreased muscular strength and cramping. Stress fractures are typically discovered after a rapid increase in exercise. Treatment usually consists of rest followed by a gradual return to exercise over a period of months. Less common are stress fractures to the femur, pelvis, and sacrum. Stress fractures most frequently occur in weight-bearing bones of the lower extremities, such as the tibia and fibula (bones of the lower leg), metatarsal and navicular bones (bones of the foot). Stress fractures of the foot are sometimes called " march fractures" because of the injury's prevalence among heavily marching soldiers. Stress fractures can be described as small cracks in the bone, or hairline fractures. Because of this mechanism, stress fractures are common overuse injuries in athletes. Instead of resulting from a single severe impact, stress fractures are the result of accumulated injury from repeated submaximal loading, such as running or jumping. Stress fracture of the second metatarsal bone (below the knuckles of the second toe)Ī stress fracture is a fatigue-induced bone fracture caused by repeated stress over time. This tool was a must have for this project and now that I'm familiar with how to use it, I have identified other projects that I have avoided but can tackle now much easier and quicker. This tool came in handy for that as well. I also had a couple other issues with this installation which required re-routing a water supply line to the fridge. The counter-top was a slow go because you want to be careful but this tool got the job done and the installation looks really nice. I cut through the laminate first to reduce the chance of chipping and then cut the remainder of the way through the particle board. The original hole in the counter-top was not exactly 30 inches so I had to trim both sides of it. This tool allows you to make initial fine cuts through the finish side which lessens the chance of splintering the finish. I cut those first and learned how best to hold and maneuver the tool. I had to cut out the bottom trim boards at the front of the cabinet. This required making some precise cuts in the cabinetry without chipping the laminate counter-top or scuffing the wood finish. I purchased this tool in order to replace a drop-in stove with a slide-in. Still, the Kingston drive has the consolation of being comfortably quicker than the Plextor drive. On these two workloads, the Kingston HyperX Predator and Plextor M6e Black Edition drives weren’t a match at all. However, its write speeds weren’t as impressive, especially on the more intensive 4K, 32 queue depth workload where it managed just only about half the speed of the Intel SSD 750 Series. Moving on, the Samsung SSD 950 Pro exhibited very fast read speeds in the following 4K and 4K (32 queue depth) work scenarios. Webmasters: Please link to the previous page. CrystalMark is a Storage benchmark and system information application from Crystal Dew World. The Kingston HyperX Predator didn't fare too badly its write performance was commendable as it was only some ways off the Intel drive and it handily beat the Samsung drive. It was a pretty close fight between the Samsung SSD 950 Pro and Intel SSD 750 Series in the sequential read and write workload, but the Intel came out ahead by around 10% overall. It measures sequential read and write performance and random read and write speeds of random 4KB and 4KB (queue depth 32) data. Here, you choose from one of 19 stroke types and then set five key parameters – Pressure, Length, Rotation and Brush Size, plus the degree to which each of these is randomised. In the past, it would then be left to the user to manually apply all cloning brush strokes, but now much of this can be done with the Auto-Painting palette. This applies the changes and automatically creates a cloned version of the current file ready for painting. When you’re happy with the effect onscreen, click on the Quick Clone command. Using the drop-downs at the top of the palette, you can adjust your photo’s contrast, brightness and saturation, apply a vignette-style effect and some blurring. First is the Underpainting palette, which lets you set up your original image ready for cloning. The biggest change is the introduction of three new dedicated Photo Painting palettes. The new Sketch Effect is particularly handy, helping you to pull out the outlines of your photo either to stand on their own as a pencil sketch or as the framework for further work. In Essentials, the whole process has been reworked. Although this is an obvious use for art software, such cloning has always been complex. This dedicated Cloner tool is the first sign of Essentials’ focus on helping to convert existing photography into artwork. In fact, even if you’re using an older tablet or a tablet PC, all Essentials’ brushes feel more responsive, with Corel claiming that most now work twice as fast and some ten times faster.Įssentials also adds some useful new tools: the Rotate Page tool lets you temporarily rotate the canvas to make it more natural to draw angled strokes the Eraser tool makes it simpler to remove paint and reveal the underlying paper and the Rubber Stamp tool works like its Photoshop namesake, letting you pick up paint from one area of the image and apply it elsewhere.Ĭlicking on the new Cloner tool will automatically select the most recently used Cloner brush variant. By comparison, the new Digital Watercolour brushes stay wet even between sessions, while the new range of Art Pens let you create fluid calligraphic effects, reacting to every movement of the stylus if you’re using one of the latest Art Pen 6 or Wacom Intuos 3 tablets. With the new range of Artist’s Oils, for example, the thick, bristly brushes smear on finite amounts of oil paint – as you drag, the paint runs dry revealing more of the underlying paper grain. Crucially, though, you can still achieve impressive end results. And where Painter offers comprehensive but intimidating control over every possible brush parameter, Essentials has control over just size, opacity and grain.Ĭompared to Painter, the creative power on offer is limited. More significantly, while Painter offers more than 800 brush variants, Essentials features just 76. Where Painter IX has nearly 40 categories of natural media brushes, Essentials offers 18. We highly recommend this tool to all users. However, the real secret of Essentials’ ease of use isn’t so much what it puts in, but what it leaves out. No errors have popped up during our tests and Corel Painter Essentials didn't freeze or crash. The application takes up a massive amount of system resources and includes a complete help file with snapshots and video tutorials. Plus, you can use tools for erasing, dodge, rubber stamp, color picker, paint bucket, text, crop, rectangular selection, layer adjuster, magnifier, grabber, and others.Īdditionally, you can resize the canvas, rotate or flip the image, set the paper color, apply a surface texture, sharpen or soften the picture, hide the palettes, toggle the screen mode, and others. The machine is the latest 15 advanced model I ran across another thread talking about similar issues and that person disabled the intel gpu in the bios and that supposedly worked to fix his issues, it is a laptop and that's why I bought it so I'd rather not have to do that if possible but if that's the only fix that will work I will give it a go and see if that will resolve it. Sometimes I have to fully reboot the laptop to get it to work at all. On some full screen games, if I alt tab back to Windows it'll loose connection and the above trouble shooting is required to fix it. Sometimes I physically have to unplug the HDMI cable and plug it back in for the laptop to display out to the TV 120hz successfully. I can even drop it from 120hz down to 60hz when it's flickering then back to 120hz and it will work fine after that. if I set the TV to 60Hz zero problems, it has something to do with the higher refresh rate. I've ensured that Windows and Nvidia drivers are updated to the latest, I've even made sure the TV OS was updated to the latest. I've tried disabling the intel gpu in device manager, I've tried several cables the one I'm using is an 48GB rated cable and works fine with other machines 120 as well as with both a PS5 and a Xbox Series X both at 120hz on this same LG display with the same cables. If the computer screen goes to sleep it will most of the time NOT wake to the external display, only the laptop screen. Upon the initial connection it works fine, I can duplicate, extend and or display only on the external which for performance is the preferred method. Sometimes the laptop works flawless, performance is as you would expect it to be from a machine with these specs. That out of the way the issue I'm having is a strange one. I upgraded from Win 11 Home "what came with the laptop" to 11 Pro. Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue with their blade? I for the most part up to this point have been blaming Windows 11 for being a buggy mess. You can do so by simply clicking flair under your link!
